From what I read off of our Secretary of State's website, it's a modified open primary. If you declare a party, that's the party you get until you re-declare. I don't know how hard that process is. If it's as simple as telling the lady at the poll that you really want the other ballot next time, then that's no big deal.

Of course, trying to decide what party you want to vote in the primary based on your particular strategy... that has me stymied.

you know... i'm not even sure i know my reasons for wanting to remain unaffiliated, now. it's always been because, as an independent, i wanted to keep my options open. i also seemed to have some sort of belief that party affiliations combined with red flags would more likely get you on some list. now i know that we're all on some list.

The fact that you're worried about being on "some list" tells me you only have one real option on Tuesday. The other candidates would either

(a) beef up Fatherland Security funding because they feel that they have something to prove,
or
(b) beef up Fatherland Security funding because they honestly believe that black-bagging a couple of Americans a year by accident is okay if you mean well.

I'm surprised no one has revived the House Unamerican Activities Committee (HUAC). Or did they just give it another name?
