get out the racist vote
am i the only one who feels like "white hardworking americans" is a codeword for "racists"? i feel like there's an unspoken acceptance of racism by the candidates that it will benefit. personally, i'd like to see all the candidates say "i don't want your vote if you don't want to see obama in office because he's black. if you are such an ignorant person, you couldn't possibly be informed enough about politics that you should be voting."

No, you're not the only one who feels that way. It's fucking ridiculous. What the fuck does even saying "white" have to do with it, besides turn it into a race issue?

It's because NPR can't say "wife-beating, cousin-fucking racist-rednecks" on the radio. So yeah, "white hardworking Americans" is a code-phrase.

"White hardworking Americans" was originally Hillary Clinton's buzzphrase for whites who won't vote for Obama, and obviously, Hillary cares very much about that segment.

It's been coined, is apt (in its own way) and is thus being propagated through the media.

it's disappointing to me that there's not really a concern for her on the "why" of they won't vote for obama. it's not like obama has had problems with the blue collar vote in all states. from an outside perspective, assuming an informed electorate, i don't really see much of a difference in regard to any of the current candidates for low income earners.

Google this: "hardworking white americans" -clinton -obama -hillary

You will see that this has been a racially-charged phrase long before Hillary Clinton "coined" it.

On my new drive to work through the ghetto, I pass a house with a jockey in front of it. A jockey that has been painted caucasian. Hilarious.

Well, they certainly can't call them as they are, racists, because that would mean acknowledging that racism still exists in America.

it seemed like a year ago, though, cnn had a new story every 2-3 days about how racism was still alive and well in america. now, it feels like everyone has decided that with obama being a presidential hopefuly, there obviously can't be any racism left. it makes me very sad.

do you really want them leaning on their guns and god, i.e. shooting you up and burning crosses in your yard?

It was definitely code for racists, and it was aimed at all the proud West Virginians, and it worked.
